5 & 10 mL
VIVIDOL Ethiodized Oil packaging
Overview

Description

VIVIDOL (Ethiodized oil) is an oil-based, radio-opaque contrast agent primarily composed of iodine combined with ethyl esters of fatty acids from poppyseed oil. It is widely used in medical imaging and targeted therapeutic applications. Under medical imaging it is used to visualize structures such as the uterus, fallopian tubes, lymphatic vessels and tumors especially in liver cancer patients.

With its unique chemical composition and high iodine content (about 37%), Ethiodized oil enhances radiographic clarity. Its oily nature allows selective retention in certain tissues, making it valuable not only for imaging but also for targeted therapeutic applications when labeled with radioactive isotopes.
